How B-SCAN was born

Our fledgling network of disability advocates, Bangladeshi Systems Change Advocacy Network (B-SCAN) was founded on July 17, 2009 in Facebook. B-SCAN is a loosely woven blanket comprised of a variety individuals around our planet who meet online and in person. All tend to share a few things in common.One is we either have a disability ourselves or know some one with disability. Most members also share the desire to rise above the social constraints hold people with disabilities back from full participation in society. We think without education, job, transportation and universal access it is not possible to bring them to the mainstream of the society. Thats why we are focusing on raising awareness in Bangladesh for people with disabilities and also among people with disabilities about their own rights.
